WATCH: Carlos Alcaraz tries his hand at fishing, shows off big catch during Maldives getaway with friends

Following his straight-set loss to eventual champion Sinner, the Serb spoke candidly to reporters about the state of his body at age 38. The 24-time Major winner explained that he does everything possible to maintain his physical health, yet the wear and tear is finally beginning to catch up with him — especially in the later stages of tournaments.

On Wednesday, November 26, artist MRDRIP — a close friend of Carlos Alcaraz — took to Instagram to share two short videos and a picture via his Stories. The first clip showed the rear of a motorboat equipped with several fishing rods, while the second captured an all-smiles Alcaraz enjoying a relaxed day of fishing. Watch the second video below:

The final picture featured the Spaniard and his friends beaming with pride after landing a sizable catch in the pristine waters of the Indian Ocean.

Even though the six-time Major champion’s 2025 season officially concluded with his runner-up finish at the year-end ATP Finals, he is set to take part in two high-profile exhibition events in the United States in early December.

The first will see the Spaniard face Frances Tiafoe on December 7 in Newark, New Jersey. The following day in Miami, Alcaraz is slated to take on Brazilian teenage sensation Joao Fonseca.

The Australian Open remains the only Major Carlos Alcaraz has yet to conquer. The Spaniard has never progressed beyond the quarterfinals in Melbourne, but in an interview with El Partizado de Cope earlier this year, he openly expressed his desire to win the tournament in the upcoming 2026 season and become the youngest player to complete the Career Grand Slam.

Stating that he would rather win only the Australian Open next year than successfully defend his French Open and US Open titles, Alcaraz told the Spanish radio show:

The 22-year-old also admitted that despite holding the No. 1 ranking, he still has a long road ahead before he can truly feel confident about being the best men’s tennis player in the world.

“I’m far from being the best player in tennis or overall, because there are still many players who can beat me and I’ve lost to many players. I’m not the best, despite the ranking showing that I am,” he added.
