The Lakers have her make a trade involving their dropex and that continues to be a question moving forward the primary player including those straight debates has been Westbrook but many are wondering.
If they’ll ever make a trade at all involving draft picks and regardless if that trade involves Westbrook or not they traded for Patrick Beverley over the summer but that deal did not include any draft picks neither a first nor second-round pick either which was likely why they agreed to it however Rob Pelinka made it very clear over the summer that he is willing to deal their draft picks.
But he also made it clear that they need to be careful about training them and in regard to all fans feel about that there is a lot of conflict ion and really confusion surrounding it a large group of fans doesn’t really understand why they are so unwilling to part with them along with that there though is I believe those draft picks are the only first-round draft picks.
They currently have which is definitely not true but given that those are the two most popular sides to take it’s not hard to tell why there is so much conflict ion in reality the Lakers have an additional three for a strong drop picks over that time frame despite not any of them being tradable but that’s not the issue they have with trading the ones they actually can trade it’s not about keeping them for the sake of using them it’s more about them being their only real trade assets for the foreseeable future now I know some people like to include LeBron and Anthony Davis with their trade assets but when is the last time they traded away a star player pretty much never they simply don’t do it and that is why they have been so patient and even alright stubborn when it comes to trading their first small draft picks.
Which might be a continuing theme moving forward according to Brian Windhorst the Lakers now planning to wait until after December 15th to make a trade and have reported has been driving fans absolutely crazy if you don’t remember and I bet many of you do in earlier report claiming that they’re waiting until the 20-day Mark to make a trade which will be next week on November 30th pushing it back to December 15th will be closer to the 30-day Mark and at that point many believe they’ll simply keep pushing it back further in addition to that I don’t think many know the significance of December 15th either I mean what is really so important about that date and well that is when newly signed players are available to be traded which would include a guy from their own team like Damian Jones in theory it does make sense for them to do that many more players will become available.
They will have more players that they can trade to the only question is will they actually make a trade or will they once again fail to pull the trigger that is the problem that many have with them waiting to make a trade I mean I agree with the idea of waiting until then, but they have not done much of anything to make us believe that they would actually do it other than the trade for Patrick Beverley they have not made a trade since acquiring Westbrook neither a small nor large trade either and although you can argue that their team last season was not worth making a trade for I don’t think you can argue that with this one as they are slowly but surely making improvements their record might not completely show it.
But they have proved to be a very competitive team and one that would theoretically be only a move or two away from making a real impact however with Russell Westbrook playing better for them lately and seemingly holding a bit of value now why should they trade one if not both they’re tradable for a small draft picks to move them that could be yet another conflict ion they have with making a trade as up until this point we have not heard of any teams lowering their price to aquarium I would like them to make a difference making trade as much as anyone.
But I do realize they have issues here which require them to be smart about making taking a move on the other hand though they don’t really have an excuse for making no moves at all even if it would be a smaller one their current group has shown enough to make it worth doing.
