Lakers have an elite defense but a bad offense and a lot of their struggles stem from their inability to hit three so far this season.
I’m going to be talking about a trade scenario that I think would help them with their shooting where they add Terry Rozier Gordon Hayward and Miles Turner but so far we’ve seen the Lakers historically struggle to shoot the three ball and I think a trade like this would be huge for them there has been reported interest in Myles Turner, buddy hield for quite some time now for the Lakers and recently we got a report that the Lakers remain highly interested in trading for Terry Rozier well imagine if they could add all of those guys it would be huge for them.
So let’s go ahead and let’s get into the trade scenario they would add Miles Turner Terry Rozier and Buddy Hield while trading away Russell Westbrook Kendrick Nunn and Austin Rivers to the Charlotte Hornets the Indiana Pacers would add Gordon Hayward.
They would get two future first round picks the Lakers might have to trade some second round picks to the Hornets but regardless I’m going to explain my thinking behind this trade scenario the Hornets get off of the long-term contracts of Terry Rozier and Gordon Hayward while adding guys who are all on expiring deals in Russell Westbrook, Kendrick Nunn and Austin Reeves I think that Kendrick nunn could fill their backup point guard role really well and then Austin Rivers could be a promising young Prospect for them and then Russell Westbrook he’s on an expiring contract.
So if the Hornets would like to let him go after the season they could if they’d like to bring it back after the season they could or if they wanted to wave him and let him find a new team via free agency this season that could be an option for them as well or maybe they could even negotiate a buyout with him regardless.
I think that this type of trade for the Hornets in a season where we have seen a ton of teams across the league improve significantly and the Hornets got worse over the off-season in my opinion it might be a year for the hornet it’s to say you know what let’s go ahead and let’s tank let’s try to add Victor Wembanyama via the draft and that could be huge for them they could have a lot of caps space in 2023 free agency if they were to end up having this Russell Westbrook expiring contract.
Then you also go ahead and trade away two guys who are on long-term deals in Rozier and Hayward and then for the Pacers Gordon Hayward is a guy who they have had some interest in the past so maybe they’d like to have him as a veteran leader as they look to rebuild and then for the Lakers this would I think solve their shooting problem defensively Miles Turner could be an anchor for them you also have Anthony Davis their front Court would be insane defensively and then the offense that Rozier and hield bring along with the shooting they bring would be so great for the team.
