Alcaraz also prefers to keep his personal life away from the spotlight, especially when it comes to dating. He has never confirmed whether he is single or in a relationship, explaining that while his career puts much of his life in the public eye, some things are better kept private.

Carlos Alcaraz also sustained a concerning hamstring injury during the first set, which required a medical timeout. The six-time Grand Slam champion’s parents and his 14-year-old brother, Jaime, were visibly distressed as they watched the unfortunate setback unfold.

With his maiden year-end championship title on the line, Alcaraz battled Sinner in a tightly contested final in Turin. However, the Spaniard fell short, as Sinner delivered a stellar performance to defend his title, securing a 7-6(4), 7-5 victory.

However, the World No. 1 managed to bring smiles back to his parents’ faces with his touching words during the trophy presentation. Alcaraz expressed heartfelt gratitude to his team and family, reflecting on how fortunate he is to have their unwavering support by his side.

“I really want to say thank you once again to my team, my family. Most of the people of my team, most of the people of my family are here. I’m lucky, I’m really lucky to have them supporting me,” he said.

Carlos Alcaraz also graciously congratulated Jannik Sinner on his “well-deserved” victory and expressed his hope to face the Italian in many more finals during the 2026 season.

Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner’s showdown in the 2025 ATP Finals final marked their sixth tour-level meeting of the season, not including their clash in the Six Kings Slam final. With their growing rivalry front and center, the pair was asked during a joint CNN interview ahead of the year-end championships whether they were getting tired of constantly running into each other on the big stages.

Although Alcaraz joked that he had been spending more time with the Italian than with his own mother, he made it clear he wasn’t tired of their frequent battles. Sinner, meanwhile, acknowledged that their constant encounters came with both good and bad sides, but emphasized that they were “very happy” to see each other as competitors and friends.

“I said in the US Open that I’m seeing him more than my mom, actually. But I mean, I never get tired of seeing him,” Alcaraz said.

While Jannik Sinner made the controversial decision to withdraw from the Davis Cup Finals, Carlos Alcaraz is set to represent Team Spain at the event. The World No. 1 will have very little time to rest before traveling to Bologna for Spain’s quarterfinal tie against Czechia.
