Today we got some absolutely terrible news that Anthony Davis is going to be out for at least one month after a right foot injury I just feel so bad for Anthony Davis because you have to consider all that he’s been through over these past couple Seasons with so many injury issues that he’s faced and this year he was really putting everything together.
I feel like the past couple years he’s really struggled compared to what you would expect from Anthony Davis a guy who at one point people were saying was going to be the best player in the league the past couple years he was good don’t get me wrong but he really struggled to stay on the floor and this year we saw him available for the majority of the games and he was playing some of the best basketball of his career.
But now the Lakers need to look somewhere for answers because a.d’s a guy who’s going to be giving you around 30 points of offense every single night he’s going to be scoring a ton for you and the Lakers are gonna miss that significantly in his absence so can the Lakers make a try raid will this finally give them the urgency to go out there and do something.
Because I feel like that needs to happen after this injury the Lakers can’t really just stand Pat they’re going to need to find someone to help them in their rotation and I think that Myles Turner and Buddy Hield could both be great additions to this Lakers team but it’s just a matter of will the Pacers be willing to make this type of move.
And then also will the Lakers be willing to part ways with both of those future first round picks to try and contend right now and also take some of the load off of LeBron James.
I mean we saw it after the 2020 NBA championship the Lakers came into the season got off to a great start they had a significant Improvement to the roster on paper and they were playing really well to open up the year then Anthony Davis goes down but it didn’t matter LeBron was playing MVP level basketball but you can’t expect a guy who at that point I believe was in year 18 to put that much pressure on his body with all the myles that he’s gone through in the NBA he eventually goes down with injury.
And then the Lakers are stuck they struggle throughout the season they hobble their way into the playoffs injured and then end up losing in the first round to the Suns the Lakers can’t afford to put that much pressure on LeBron this year they need to find some guys who can help them offensively in the absence of Anthony Davis whether that’s through a blockbuster Russell Westbrook trade or by trading guys like Patrick Beverley or Kendrick Nunn.
I feel like right now there is a huge need for a trade I mean the Lakers are going to miss a lot of depth in their front court and I just think that they need to find a way to make some type of improvement to this roster.
