Kyrie Irving Joining The Lakers Is Happening According To Multiple Reports
It looks like ultimately regardless of what goes on a lot of NBA reporters seem to think that Kyrie Irving is going to end up in a Los Angeles Lakers uniform and obviously the details of the trade have to be worked out but the summer league.
seems to be an opportunity for this GM’s Rob Pelinka and Sean marks to meet up and discuss and see if they can get a trade done for Kyrie Irving but in this situation the Lakers have leverage because they have backup plans they could look to trade for Eric Gordon or buddy hield and that’s the thing.
I think that the Lakers over these past couple days have gained a lot of Leverage based on the reporting that has come out around the Los Angeles Lakers and their pursuit of Kylie Irving there’s basically no other teams interested and the Lakers are the only team out there looking to bring Kylie to their team and it’s been pretty well reported that Kyrie Irving wants to be a Laker so this essentially leaves the Brooklyn Nets with little to no leverage they tried to put some reports out there that made it seem like things weren’t going to happen but now so many reporters seem to think that this is going to happen and it seems like a trade that the Lakers can pull off because they have a lot of Leverage in the situation let me put you in the Brooklyn Net shoes.
If the Brooklyn Nets decide not to trade Kyrie Irving then they forfeit the chance to get one of the Lakers future draft picks because I feel like that’s what they’d want in a potential trade so let’s say the Lakers just give up one future first round pick that is a future first round pick that is well down the line we don’t know what the Lakers will be doing in 2027 or 2029 and there’s a chance that that could be a really good pick a valuable pick in the NBA draft and when you consider that I feel like the Brooklyn Nets should take the opportunity to acquire one of those draft picks and they trade away a guy in Kylie Irving who would probably leave the team for the Lakers in the off season.
Anyway as if the Lakers do end up going out there and just playing out this season with West brook or trading for a guy like buddy Hield Eric Gordon they could trade away buddy Hield Eric Gordon after the season to clear up cap space to bring in Kyrie or Russell Westbrook’s money goes off the books after the season and then they have the money to sign Kyrie so I feel like the Brooklyn Nets should take the opportunity to get that draft picked while they can and also it would allow Then to move on from all the drama surrounding the team when it comes to Kyrie Irving now they also have to deal with a potential Kevin Durant trade as well so they just have a lot of going on but ultimately I could see a scenario where the Lakers get this trade done during the summer league which would be absolutely huge for this team we would see an all NBA caliber guard and Kyrie joined the team but if they don’t pull that trade offs a backup plan could be trading for Buddy Hield Eric Gordon and also.
