The Los Angeles Lakers fans were greatly disappointed as their team was eliminated from the playoffs by the Denver Nuggets, suffering a sweep in the Western Conference finals. Among those unhappy was Kwame Brown, a former No. 1 pick who recently released a fiery seven-minute video berating LeBron James over his last-second shot in Game 4.Brown criticized LeBron James for missing the opportunity to tie the game during the crucial moments of Game 4, calling him a stat sheet-stuffer and questioning his caliber. LeBron James attempted to attack the basket, but due to being double-teamed by Jamal Murray and Aaron Gordon, his attempt was blocked as time expired. Kwame Brown expressed his frustration, stating that LeBron James was probably the best scorer in the game with all his points, yet he was still looking for a bailout.

Comparing LeBron James to other players, Kwame Brown stated that Richard Hamilton and Gilbert Arenas would have gotten a shot off in the same situation, and Kobe Bryant would have secured the win for the Los Angeles Lakers. Kwame Brown emphasized that greatness is an action and not just a label, and if he owned a LeBron James jersey, he would burn it in anger.

Kwame Brown was the top pick in the 2001 NBA draft by the Wizards and played in 606 games from 2001 to 2013 with an average of 6.6 points and 5.5 rebounds. Although considered one of the biggest busts in NBA history, this didn’t stop him from voicing his opinion on LeBron James’s performance and the Lakers’ playoff exit.

NBA Fans Crush Kwame Brown For His Awful Take on LeBron James

The Los Angeles Lakers recently exited the NBA playoffs and a former draft bust took to social media to criticize LeBron James for his lack of performance in the team’s Game 4 loss to Denver Nuggets. Kwame Brown specifically referred to a play at the end of regulation where LeBron James was blocked by Jamal Murray and Aaron Gordon as time expired, stating that although LeBron James is a skilled scorer, he continuously looks for a bailout. Many on NBA Twitter were quick to respond, pointing out the irony of Kwame Brown’s criticism given his own underwhelming career. Below are some of the best reactions to Kwame Brown’s rant about  LeBron James.

Anthony Davis was taken aback when LeBron James hinted at retirement, but then he remembered a recent conversation they had during the Olympics.

Following the Los Angeles Lakers’ loss in the Western Conference Finals, attention naturally turned to LeBron James. Despite putting on an impressive 40-point performance in the final game, ending his 20th NBA season on a sour note led him to question his future in basketball and consider retiring in the offseason.

Although his star teammate Anthony Davis was initially taken aback, he later remembered a previous conversation in which LeBron James hinted at this possibility. Anthony Davis had told LeBron James he “might have one more in me” when discussing the 2024 Olympics, but LeBron James had responded that he might already be retired by then.

While LeBron James’ retirement thoughts may have been fueled by the emotions of a disappointing loss, the conversation with Anthony Davis suggests that it has been on his mind. LeBron James has accomplished virtually everything there is to achieve in the league individually and with his teams. The only remaining known objective is to play alongside his son in the NBA. However, considering LeBron James’ remarkable career, no one would fault him if he decided to retire.
