lebron james’s decision to sign an extension with the lakers came despite his private insistence that the lakers improve the current roster and trade for kyrie irving so lebron wants kyrie on the roster.
But this roster regardless of if the lakers can pull off a trade for kyrie or not does need some improvements if the lakers want to compete for a championship, when you look at the lakers roster situation and ways to improve you really look at those 2027 and 2029 first round picks those picks are way far down the line but if the lakers were willing to trade russell westbrook along with those two picks there’s definitely a world where they improved their roster significantly.
It looks like the lakers are willing to trade those two first if they could bring in kyrie but they’re not doing that when it comes to trying to trade for miles turner and buddy hield which i’m not sure if that is the best way to take things right now i don’t i’m not sure that’s the best course of action for the lakers.
When you consider the fact that they do need a roster improvement if they can’t pull off a trade for kyrie irving then i think that mtles turner buddy healed are really the lakers second the best option now if you could get another player from the indiana pacers that would be great maybe a guy who could at least make some type of impact in the rotation alongside turner and healed you would like that if your la but i still feel like a trade for turner and hield is a really good option for the lakers and you look at kyrie irving obviously the lakers could wait to see how this situation with kevin durant does play out but if they want to have their roster set by training camp and have the guys they’re going to run with throughout the season on the team through training camp.
Then they need to make a move soon i know that if you’re a nba team you want to have as much talent on your roster as possible but also you have to take into account things like team chemistry and fit of players on the roster because if you get guys like miles turner and buddy healed i think they’ll fit on the team well and i think kyrie would fit with the lakers well now the defense there i’m not sure how good the lakers would be defensively considering that they struggled on that end last year but when you look at the fact that the lakers need help offensively kyrie irving could definitely help them with that and i feel like he fits in really well next to lebron james and anthony davis on the offensive side of the ball and the same goes for myles turner and buddy hield
I mean heals a sharpshooter lebron james playing with sharpshooters usually works out and then you look at myles turner a big man who can space the floor and block shots i think he’d fit really well as well so when you look at a trade for miles turner buddy hield both those guys fit well on the roster kyrie would help out the roster as well.
I mean both of these trade options i think are good for the lakers now if you can get miles turner buddy healed while only trading one first round pick that’d be great but i still think that trading two first-round picks for miles turner buddy healed is a trade that would be worth it if your Lakers.
