Los Angeles Lakers center Anthony Davis and forward LeBron James have secured their places on the distinguished 2023 NBA In-Season Tournament All-Tournament Team, a recognition well-deserved for their exceptional performances in both the Group Play and the Knockout Rounds. Their impeccable teamwork propelled the Lakers to an unblemished 7-0 record, ultimately clinching the inaugural NBA Cup.

Anthony Davis, a force in the paint, showcased his prowess throughout all seven In-Season Tournament games. He maintained an impressive average of 23.3 points, 14.6 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 1.0 steal, and 2.9 blocks in just under 34 minutes per game. Notably, Davis delivered a standout performance in the IST Finals against the Indiana Pacers on December 9 in Las Vegas, where he recorded a phenomenal 41 points (16-24 FG, 9-13 FT) in 41 minutes. Accompanying this scoring feat were 20 rebounds, five assists, and four blocks. Among all tournament participants, the 30-year-old led in both total rebounds (102) and total blocks (20), cementing his influence on the court.

LeBron James, the maestro of versatility, contributed significantly to the Lakers’ triumph. Across seven In-Season Tournament games, James averaged an impressive 26.4 points, 8.0 rebounds, 7.6 assists, and 1.6 steals in just over 30 minutes per game. His shooting efficiency was noteworthy, with a 56.8 percent field goal accuracy and an outstanding 60.6 percent from 3-point range. The 38-year-old’s standout performance earned him the prestigious title of this year’s In-Season competition Most Valuable Player. James not only led in total field goals (67) but also boasted an IST-high plus/minus of +116, underscoring his invaluable impact on the Lakers’ success.

In celebration of their outstanding achievements, the Lakers will honor Anthony Davis and LeBron James during a special ceremony recognizing the In-Season Tournament Championship. This commemorative event is scheduled to take place ahead of the Lakers’ home game on Monday, December 18. During the ceremony, the team will unveil a distinctive add-a-year In-Season Tournament banner, an enduring symbol of their triumphant inaugural 2023 win.
