There was an article published by Dave mcmenamin of ESPN talking about the Los Angeles Lakers potentially making a trade for Myles Turner and Buddy Hield and the Lakers locker room reportedly believes they are just a couple players away from being a legitimate championship team.
When you look at the Lakers match up tonight they’re taking on the Indiana Pacers and it’s been rumored that the Lakers and Pacers could make a trade for quite some time when you look at the Indiana Pacers they’re doing so well they’re fourth in the Eastern Conference and the Lakers their 13th in the west now the West is very tight-backed but you have to wonder would the Pacers really want to make a trade right now also I will have this article linked Down Below in the description and even.
If they were to make a trade who’s to say they wouldn’t demand potentially some extra second round picks on top of the first round picks they already went from the Lakers it’s been reported that they want those 2027 in 2029 picks from LA but at this point the Pacers are playing well and I’m sure they see that the Lakers are near the bottom of the West and I thought that this was a great point in the article about how Russell Westbrook’s contract is really the issue for La.
The Lakers are struggling with three-point shooting and yeah it’d be great if they could go out there and get more three-point Shooters but when you trade away two good three-point Shooters like kcp and Kyle kuzma to add Russell Westbrook you are gonna lose shooting they traded away three rotational guys to add Westbrook along with the first-round pick in the 2021 NBA draft anyways looking at Myles Turner’s numbers this year he is having an amazing season.
like I said that’s why I think that if the Lakers were to go back to the Pacers and try to make a trade who’s to say they wouldn’t want more picks Buddy Hield is having a good season as well he’s continuing to shoot the ball at a high level Turner shooting the ball at a high level these guys could absolutely be difference makers for Lakers.
I mean between the two of them they’re nearly giving you 40 points of offense a night just off their scoring that’s not even considering the assist and you look at the fact that these guys are both elite floor spacers something the Lakers need and a pairing of Turner and A. D in the front Court would be absolutely scary but to talk about a couple reasons why the Pacers and Lakers might consider this trade well the Lakers are off to a rough start to the season.
But there has been promise we’ve seen that this team can play at high level and guys like Lonnie Walker IV and Austin Rivers have really stepped up their play then the look at the Indiana Pacers the Pacers are a team that is should be in the midst of a rebuild, but they’ve really outperformed the expectations so far and with that do they think that this team can really be a contender or are they one piece away.
Maybe they could add that player through the draft and if you could get some additional picks from La while trading away veterans shooting guard Buddy Hield who is taking away minutes from Benedict Mathurin and then also trading away Myles Turner who’s a 2023 free agent.
