The Lakers are two and eight and it’s clear what they need to do add more shooting to their roster, and we’re going to talk about some trades where they could accomplish that and also talk about a recent update on players they could be looking to trade.
The Los Angeles Lakers are looking at trading players other than Russell Westbrook and really when you look at Players other than Westbrook who the Lakers could trade I would look at Patrick Beverley and Kendrick Nunn Patrick Beverley was brought in to be a defensive stopper for this team and also be able to hit its threes so far his shooting has been really rough and you look at a Charlotte Hornets team that could use some guard depth in the absence of lamelo ball.
And also could use a veteran leader maybe a trade like this where the Lakers trade away Patrick Beverley and a future second-round pick for Kelly Oubre Jr could be a move that could help about their team Ouber could be a three Indie wing for them another option could be Josh Richardson if the Spurs were willing to take two future second round picks to trade away Josh Richardson.
I think it would be a really good move for the Lakers and in this trade they’d be trading away Patrick Beverley who’s on an expiring deal again I think that Richardson could be a three and D wing for the Lakers then you look at Eric Gordon he’s a three-point sharpshooter in this trade scenario I have the Lakers trading away Patrick Beverley Kendrick none and two future second round picks to add Eric Gordon to their team he could add a ton of floor spacing to this Lakers team that desperately needs it he wouldn’t bring as much on the defensive end.
But like I said he could just really help out the shooting and when you look around the league you have teams that are really exceeding expectations look at a team like the Utah Jazz although they didn’t have high expectations going into the season they have a team that plays this unit they have Shooters they have guys who are willing to defend and that has all led to them being the number one seed in the west, thus far.
Then you look at the Portland Trail Blazers they have their star in Damian Lillard, and they have role players that complement him well Anthony Simons is another guy who can bring big scoring for them and then you look at a team like the Cleveland Cavaliers LeBron James recently complimented them he was talking about their roster and how it’s not about guys who are showing off on social media and stuff like that just guys who are going out there and playing the Cavs have been incredibly impressive this year.
So you can see that teams are going out there and exceeding expectations but even though people didn’t have high expectations for the Lakers this year they’ve somehow been worse than what I think a lot of people would have expected even though Russell Westbrook has been great Off the Bench for La they still haven’t been able to get many wins.
