Dennis Schroder is now a Los Angeles Lakers once again but this move was a bit confusing considering the fact that the Los Angeles Lakers already have so many point guards so it had people wondering if this was going to lead to a Russell Westbrook trade because Dennis Schroder actually chose the Los Angeles Lakers over other teams like the Toronto Raptors and Phoenix Suns both of those teams did significantly better than the Lakers over this past season.
In the standings and is Schroeder going to get a bigger role in Lakers, than he would have got with those teams I’m not really sure when you consider all the guards the Lakers have right now and you have to wonder if this could lead to a Russell Westbrook trade and what a potential trade could look like that’s, so in this trade scenario Myles Turner and Buddy Hield joined the Los Angeles Lakers and the Lakers end up trading away Russell Westbrook Wenyen and Gabriel, and they give up their 2027 in 2029 first round picks.
If I’m the Lakers I think it’s time to go all in because the Lakers have LeBron James who is 37 years old he’ll be 38 in this upcoming season and with that LeBron is still playing high level basketball and you also have Anthony Davis who is capable of being one of the best players in the league when he’s healthy, so I feel like the Lakers need to put the right Supporting Cast around them, so they can succeed and adding a guy like Myles Turner to further bolster their defense would definitely be helpful.
Because signing Dennis Schroder helped out the Lakers defense but adding in a big man who can not only defend at a high level but space the floor would be very helpful as well and then adding a volume three-point shooter and Buddy Hield who’s one of the best Shooters in the league would be absolutely great if you’re the Lakers as well now I know healed would be another guard but at least he’s not a point guard contributing to the Lakers problems of having so many guards on the roster.
I’m really wondering how they’re going to work that out and how they’re going to divy up the minutes because if I’m a laker I’d like to have Kendrick Nunn Russell Westbrook Patrick Beverley and Dennis Schroder all getting significant rotational minutes because I feel like they’re all capable of playing those minutes, and they’re all some really solid point guards.
So I’m just not really sure how the Lakers are going to figure it out there but it could lead to Russell Westbrook being bench which would be absolutely crazy and I think it just shows how much of a competition there’s going to be for those guard minutes on the Los Angeles Lakers roster.
But that could be a good thing maybe it’ll lead to guys playing really hard to try and get those minutes in the rotation ultimately we’ll have to see what happens, and we’ll have to see if the Lakers make another move after signing Dennis Schroder.
