We are talking about some information about a potential trade between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Utah Jazz that was published in an article by Brett Siegel so let’s go ahead and let’s get into it with the Donovan Mitchell trade it looks like it’s less likely that the Los Angeles Lakers could end up trading Russell Westbrook and it looks like a three-team trade won’t happen but it was reported by tony jones that there have been talks between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Utah Jazz but no trade is imminent.
So that is also something to note as you look at potential trades between the lakers and Utah Jazz now the jazz are looking to trade away some of their veterans and i feel like given the lakers and jazz situations this trade between the lakers and jazz would be the most realistic one and also one that could benefit both teams pretty significantly because the lakers they’re looking to add players who can help them compete and the jazz they’re looking to rebuild so i feel like the Utah Jazz getting those picks makes a lot of sense and the lakers getting those players who can help them compete also makes sense, really it seemed like the lakers could have had a good chance to get involved in a three-team trade if the knicks and jazz ended up trying to make a trade that involved Donovan Mitchell.
But ultimately the cavaliers got in the mix and were able to add Donovan so now the lakers have to look towards other options and potential trades and i think one of them could be where they add bojan bogdanovic Jordan Clarkson and Malik Beasley while trading away Russell west Westbrook into future first round picks now based on reports it seems like there’s been quite a bit of interest in Jordan Clarkson around the league so maybe the lakers aren’t able to add Clarkson in a potential trade and would have to add Mike Conley instead but maybe in that scenario the lakers could also add bojan bogdanovic and maybe jarred Vanderbilt now another trade scenario that we’re going to talk about is in my opinion the best one for the lakers where they add Bojan Bogdanovic, Jordan Clarkson, Malik Beasley and jarred Vanderbilt.
But if the lakers could add all those players while trading away Russell Westbrook Kendrick Nunn and two future first round picks it would really put them in a position to contend in my opinion and i think that any move that can really move the needle towards championship contention should be done if you’re the lakers because you’re in a tough spot with LeBron James going into year 20 you don’t know how much longer he can keep up the level of play that he’s been at so if the lakers can find a trade that they think will really help them out they should definitely make it in my opinion.
