Lakers blockbuster Trade that change everything for their roster! Russell Westbrook Trade revisited

Last off season the Los Angeles Lakers, made a huge move they brought Russell Westbrook, to the team and now we’re almost a year removed from this trade, and we’re going to be taking a look back at it so the Los Angeles Lakers traded away kyle kuzma kcp Montrezl Harrell, and the 22nd pick in the 2021 nba draft,

And they brought Russell Westbrook, to their team while also getting, two future second round picks one in 2024, and one in 2028, I mean Russell Westbrook was coming off of a season averaging a triple-double, and it looked like this could be a really good move for there were people who were critics of the move, and said it might not work out but I don’t think anybody expected, the past season for the lakers to go the way that it went,

I mean completely missing the play in tournament, in a western conference where it was pretty realistic to get that plan, I believe the lakers won 33 games on the season, and were barely out of contention for that playing tournament,

So you talk about that but then you look at how it’s affecting this off season for la because you might think okay they made this bad move, but it isn’t really going to have too much of an effect going into the future, well Westbrook opted into his player option and now the lakers have been looking at trades and pretty much any potential trade,

that involves Russell Westbrook involves the lakers trading away at least one future first-round pick, and the lakers already traded a first-round pick to bring Westbrook to their team while also trading away kcp kyle kuzma, and Montrezl Harrell three players who really could have helped la over this past season, I mean kuzma had a breakout year with Washington i believe he averaged about 18 and 10, and then you talk about kcp just a good three’nd Win, Montrezl Harrell the lakers could have used another big LeBron James was playing the five at 37 years old,

I mean that’s absolutely crazy, so the lakers could have used all of those guys over this past season they could have used that first-round pick to draft a guy who could have helped their team because although the lakers may have made some trades over the past few seasons that were a bit questionable one thing that they’ve been really good at for a while, now is the nba draft, I mean we’ve seen them draft guys like the he was a second-round pick kyle kuzma was a steal in the draft, you had a guy like Alex Caruso who they found out of the g league,

I mean the lakers have a good eye of finding young talent, and guys who can develop with the team so that first-round pick could have been very valuable, but ultimately they didn’t end up using that as that first-round pick went to Washington so this trade continues to have quite a few effects on the lakers and now to potentially trade away Russell Westbrook like, I said the lakers will likely have to give up another future pick they’re just in a really difficult situation in this off season, but there’s also been some trade rumors surrounding Patrick Beverley potentially joining the team and also i think that Demarcus Cousins could be a good fit for lakers.
