“Going to bed at 11 pm is not the same as going to bed at 2 am” – Carlos Alcaraz makes feelings clear on his ATP Finals SF schedule
Carlos Alcaraz’s semifinal match at the 2025 ATP Finals in Turin, Italy, has been scheduled for a late start on Saturday, November 15. Reacting to the timing, the Spaniard expressed concerns that a late finish could affect his performance in the final on Sunday, should he advance past his last-four clash against either Alexander Zverev or Felix Auger-Aliassime..
On Friday, November 14, Alexander Zverev and Felix Auger-Aliassime are set to face off in the final Round Robin match of the Björn Borg Group. The match will begin at 8:30 PM local time in Turin and will be the second contest of the day, following the dead-rubber opener between Jannik Sinner and Ben Shelton, with Sinner having already secured his place in the semifinals.
As a result, Carlos Alcaraz’s semifinal has been scheduled for a late start on Saturday, while Jannik Sinner’s last-four clash against Alex de Minaur will take place earlier in the day. If both the Italian and the Spaniard advance to the final, Sinner will benefit from having additional time to rest and recover ahead of the championship match.
According to Marca, the newly crowned year-end World No. 1 noted that if he advances to the final, a late-night finish on Saturday could negatively impact his chances of securing his first ATP Finals title.
“Obviously, the less recovery time you have, the worse it is. I’m not saying it’s a huge handicap, but it’s not the same to finish at 11:30 or 12 and go to bed at 2 as it is to go to bed at 11 and do everything much earlier. Recovery time and rest time greatly influence whether you’re in good enough shape, or in better shape, for Sunday” Alcaraz said.
Carlos Alcaraz registered three wins out of three matches played in ATP Finals 2025’s Round Robin phase to reach SF in style

Carlos Alcaraz kicked off his 2025 ATP Finals campaign against Australia’s lightning-fast Alex de Minaur. While de Minaur challenged him, especially in a tightly contested first set, it was ultimately Alcaraz who prevailed, securing a 7-6(5), 6-2 victory.
The six-time Major champion faced a far sterner test in his next Round Robin match against Taylor Fritz. The American took the first set 7-6(2), but Alcaraz steadied himself and came back to claim the next two sets 7-5, 6-3.
In his final Round Robin outing against Lorenzo Musetti, Alcaraz produced a commanding performance, defeating the Italian 6-4, 6-1. The victory also secured his position as the year-end World No. 1 for the second time in his career, having first achieved the milestone in 2022.
